For the First Time During the War, Dar Al-Itqan Holds the Firm Mountains Competition for Reciting Ten Juz' of the Qur'an
Dar Al-Itqan for Teaching the Qur'an in Palestine organized the Firm Mountains competition for reciting ten juz' of the Holy Qur'an in a single sitting, for the first time during the genocidal war on Gaza.
At Al-Qubba Mosque in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, the competition ran from 8:00 a.m. until the Dhuhr prayer, with 235 male and female huffaz taking part, and a notable presence from the institution's leadership and a number of scholars and people working in the service of the Holy Qur'an in Gaza.
Dar Al-Itqan announced its decision to continue the Firm Mountains competition, explaining that it is part of a plan leading to the recitation of the entire Holy Qur'an in a single sitting. It will organize another competition in mid-Sha'ban for reciting fifteen juz' in a single sitting, followed, after the blessed month of Ramadan, by a full recitation of the Qur'an, Allah willing.
In his speech at the competition, the Head of Dar Al-Itqan, Mr. Ahmed Musa, said: "We are proud of this generation, which has not been distracted from the Holy Qur'an despite the war and all it has brought of hardship, displacement, and genocide," affirming that this is the generation of victory and liberation.
Mr. Musa urged the students to continue on the same path, praying to Allah, Glorified and Exalted, that the day of the Firm Mountains be a day marking the end of Gaza's tragedies and an end to this war.
