At the Same Time in Northern and Southern Gaza: Half the Qur'an Recited in a Single Sitting on the 15th of Sha'ban
Dar Al-Itqan for Teaching the Qur'an in Gaza held the Firm Mountains competition once again, this time for reciting fifteen juz' of the Holy Qur'an in a single sitting.
At the same time, the competition took place in both northern and southern Gaza in a spiritual Qur'anic atmosphere, with reciters gathering at Al-Rafe'i Mosque in Gaza and at the Al-Aqsa prayer hall in Khan Younis.
A total of 140 male and female reciters took part, and some students completed their task with mastery within the first hours of the recitation.
Mr. Ahmed Musa, Head of Dar Al-Itqan, said that reciting half of the Qur'an in the middle of Sha'ban came at a time when Allah had blessed us with a halt to the war on Gaza. He noted that the institution made mastery the motto of this competition, so that no student is certified for the recitation without scoring 80% or higher.
Mr. Musa affirmed that the Firm Mountains competition will continue, announcing another competition for reciting the entire Holy Qur'an to be held after the blessed month of Ramadan, Allah willing.
