"The Honorable Cohort": Qur'an Memorizers of the War Years Honored at a Grand Ceremony
By the grace of Allah, Dar Al-Itqan for Teaching the Qur'an held a ceremony honoring 777 male and female memorizers of the Holy Qur'an who completed their memorization during 777 days of war in the Gaza Strip.
With broad participation from families, the ceremony, titled "The Honorable Cohort," was held among the tents of the displaced in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
The ceremony opened with verses from the Holy Qur'an recited by Al-Itqan's reciter Ahmed Husni Mansour, winner of first place in the Gaza Strip's most beautiful voice competition.
This was followed by speeches from the Head of Dar Al-Itqan, Mr. Ahmed Musa, the guest of honor, Sheikh Yasser Abu Houli, and outstanding students, along with nasheeds, praise of the Prophet, and a live demonstration of a memorization circle on the stage.
In his speech to the Qur'anic gathering, Mr. Ahmed Musa thanked everyone who supported the blessed Qur'anic journey throughout the war and after, recalling the immense reward and the sacrifices made along this path.
Dar Al-Itqan awarded the huffaz a certificate in its name, along with a $50 gift for each hafiz, and a food parcel provided by Operation Gallant Knight in the Gaza Strip.
The ceremony is the first of its kind since the brutal genocidal war on Gaza, and it coincided with the anniversary of Al-Isra' wal-Mi'raj, a reminder of the greatness of both the place and the time.
