Dar Al-Itqan Launches a Campaign to Cover Gaza's Memorization Circles with Tarpaulins Before Winter
Dar Al-Itqan for Teaching the Holy Qur'an in the Gaza Strip launched a humanitarian campaign to cover the Qur'an memorization circles spread across displacement sites with tarpaulins, in preparation for the harsh winter season, to keep the circles running despite the challenges.
In moving words, one of Dar Al-Itqan's Qur'an teachers said: "We used to pray to Allah for rains of goodness, but today we fear these rains despite the blessing they bring, because we are afraid the Qur'anic journey will stop under the hardships of displacement and the cruelty of winter."
According to the institution, more than 250 memorization centers are at risk, and most of these circles may stop if they are not covered with tarpaulins, which increases the need for the support of charitable people in these difficult circumstances.
In its first moments, the campaign received a generous response from donors, enabling the institution to cover 30 memorization circles. Dar Al-Itqan affirms that the campaign will continue until all circles in the memorization centers are secured, stressing that the goal goes beyond simply completing the campaign: it is about protecting the Qur'anic journey amid the exceptional conditions the people of Gaza are living through.
It is worth noting that the alternative centers have become worn out due to repeated displacement and constant movement between tents and shelters, as a result of the brutal aggression on Gaza.
