Doctors Recite the Entire Qur'an in a Single Sitting in an Unprecedented Event in Gaza
By the grace of Allah, 155 male and female doctors recited the entire Holy Qur'an from memory in a single sitting, in an event unprecedented across the Gaza Strip.
In cooperation between Dar Al-Itqan for Teaching the Qur'an and the student branch of the Palestinian Medical Forum, the recitation began with the doctors arriving early and gathering inside Al-Awda Mosque in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, on the morning of the 20th of Ramadan.
In his speech before the recitation began, His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Musa, Head of Dar Al-Itqan, welcomed the doctors to the gardens of the Qur'an, saying that doctors know better than anyone what heals hearts and what sets people's lives right: the Holy Qur'an.
For his part, Dr. Karam Al-Madhoun, Head of the Palestinian Medical Forum, said that the mission of medicine meets the light of the Qur'an today, affirming that the doctors chose to have their deeds raised in the blessed month of Ramadan by reciting the Qur'an in a single sitting.
Dar Al-Itqan announced that it is preparing an award ceremony befitting the distinction of this event and its participants, noting that the event marked the first time the recitation was done entirely without a Mushaf, a sign of mastery and precise memorization.
