Dar Al-Itqan for Teaching the Qur'an, in cooperation with the Association of the People of the Qur'an and Sunnah, held a ceremony honoring those granted ijazah with a connected chain of transmission to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Malik Mosque, known as Al-Aqqad Mosque, in Gaza. The ceremony honored 55 ijazah holders and grantors, under the generous sponsorship of Midad Al-Khair Foundation.
The ceremony, titled *"From Gaza… An Unbroken Chain,"* featured rare Qur'anic and scholarly showcases, including a Qur'anic recitation in the Ten Qira'at performed by Sheikh Louay Ahmed Al-Najjar, a presentation of the Shatibiyyah text by Sheikh Abdul Khaliq Mohammed Al-Astal, and an example of a person who handwrote the entire Mushaf.
The ceremony opened with a beautiful recitation by reciter Mohammed Husni Mansour, followed by Dar Al-Itqan's speech delivered by its Head, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Musa, and then a nasheed by munshid Alaa Abu Armana. Sheikh Mohammed Jawhar Al-Astal delivered the speech of the Association of the People of the Qur'an and Sunnah, while Mr. Hammam Hamdan Abu Rouk delivered the speech of Midad Al-Khair Foundation. A video presentation documented the success stories of several ijazah holders before the event concluded with the award ceremony.
This achievement continues the journey of the institution, which began in 2007 with 23 Qur'an circles and today includes 4,986 male and female students across seven institutional tracks.
*Dar Al-Itqan joins the World Qur'an Assembly*
The ceremony follows Dar Al-Itqan for Teaching the Qur'an joining the *World Qur'an Assembly*, a step that opens wider horizons for cooperation and exchange of expertise with Qur'anic institutions around the world.
The institution addressed a message to Qur'anic institutions worldwide, affirming that Qur'anic work in Gaza continues despite the circumstances, that its institutions are capable of achievement and partnership, and that what took place was not merely a ceremony, but a testimony that this land still produces those who carry the chain of the Qur'an, its knowledge, and its message.
